AMCP Foundation/Sanofi Internship in Specialty Care
Internship Overview
This internship aims to develop future leaders in managed health care through exposure to managed care concepts such as value, access, health equity, formulary management, benefit design, medication therapy management, and specialty care.
Working directly with pharmacists and other health care team members in specialty pharmacy, or related business units, interns will appreciate how high-cost therapies can be optimally distributed and managed with patient education and adherence support through specialty pharmacy.
Interns are exposed to the pharmaceutical industry with a Director of Medical Managed Care in specialty care, to a professional membership society with AMCP, and to a public charity with AMCP Foundation. Student pharmacists will be matched with virtual preceptors as part of the program.
Each intern is assigned to a health plan, PBM, specialty pharmacy, or other site.
- Interns present capstone research projects at AMCP Nexus.
Internship Requirements: (All materials must be submitted online by Jan. 10, 2025)
- Currently enrolled as a full-time Doctor of Pharmacy degree student in an ACPE-accredited school or college of pharmacy during the 2024-2025 school year with anticipated graduation in 2026 or 2027.
- Must be eligible for employment in the United States.
Candidates must submit an online application including:
- Two letters of recommendation
- A letter of good academic standing from their institution, including current cumulative GPA.
This annual internship reflects the commitment of AMCP Foundation and Sanofi to fostering healthcare leadership through student pharmacist education and to improving the quality of patient care in a managed care pharmacy setting. This program is administered by AMCP Foundation.
