Access, Affordability, and Adherence: Addressing Disparities in Medication Use
The 2024 AMCP Foundation Symposium convened diverse health care stakeholders to explore strategies to improve medication use and outcomes for underserv
ed populations. Through a combination of plenary sessions, working breakout discussions, and collaborative solution-capturing, participants examined critical challenges and identified actionable strategies to reduce disparities.
A key outcome of the symposium is the Blueprint for Action, a document that outlines concrete steps for stakeholders to implement in the short, medium, and long term. The Blueprint is a guiding framework for addressing systemic medication access, affordability, and adherence issues. It also envisions the development of learning networks—ongoing collaborations that will support implementing Blueprint recommendations, fostering shared learning and sustained impact.
The Blueprint aims to drive meaningful progress toward equitable medication use and improved health outcomes by providing a structured roadmap for action and promoting cross-sector collaboration.
