AMCP Foundation/Pfizer Inc. Managed Care Internship
Pfizer Inc., in partnership with AMCP Foundation, will support AMCP Foundation/Pfizer, Inc. Managed Care Internship. Its goal is to develop future leaders in managed health care through activities that expose interns to population health and the application of managed care pharmacy principles in formulary management, benefit design, medication therapy management, and adherence management.
Working directly with pharmacists and other health care team members, interns will gain an appreciation of how managed care pharmacy principles seek to maximize health care resources and patient care outcomes. Five student pharmacists are selected for the internship through a nationwide selection process.
Internship Details
During the 10-week program, each intern will be assigned to a health plan, pharmacy benefit management company, and employer site. This immersive experience will round out their introduction to the managed care pharmacy profession and help them develop career plans. The program will reimburse approved expenses. Interns will also receive a modest stipend.
