Volunteer: AMCP Foundation Best Poster Judges & Poster Mentors
AMCP Foundation invites you to volunteer for our Best Poster Competition held during AMCP National Meetings.
We are seeking volunteers for poster judges and poster presentation mentors. Your assistance in providing a rewarding experience for our poster presenters, and your commitment to research in managed care pharmacy, are invaluable.
The competition is designed for student pharmacists, residents/fellows, and graduate students. Judging and presentation mentoring will not be open to posters in other disciplines. These students and resident/fellow non-reviewed abstracts are usually projects where data is unavailable at the time of submission but may be available at the time of the meeting.
The Best Poster Award is given to one student pharmacist, one resident or fellow, and one graduate student with the most outstanding poster, as evaluated by our volunteer judges. The recipient from each Best Poster Competition category will be announced during the AMCP conference. The recipients will also receive a cash award of $500, an engraved plaque, a complimentary AMCP membership for one year, recognition in newsletters, social media, and complimentary registration to the next AMCP meeting.
What is expected of a Poster Judge? A poster judge reviews and scores a set of poster abstracts assigned to them prior to the competition. The week of an AMCP conference, poster judges evaluate a subset of poster presentations. The Best Student, Best Resident/Fellow, and Best Graduate Student poster recipients are selected based on final scores. The AMCP Foundation Best Poster Competition is held during the opening night reception.
What is expected of a Poster Presentation Mentor? A poster presentation mentor prepares the poster presenter to speak about their research by visiting assigned posters, asking presenters questions, and providing feedback. Onsite, the poster presentation mentors are expected to spend 5-15 minutes with a selection of poster presenters. Mentors will only be assigned to poster presentations in the student, resident/fellow, and graduate student non-reviewed categories.
