AMCP Foundation/Pfizer, Inc. Oncology Internship
The Pfizer Oncology Medical Outcomes team, in partnership with AMCP Foundation, supports the Oncology Internship Program. The program equips student pharmacists with valuable hands-on experience and knowledge needed to pursue careers in oncology/specialty pharmacy and in managed care.
Working directly with pharmacists and other health care team members in oncology, specialty pharmacy, or related business units, interns will appreciate how managed care pharmacy principles maximize health care resources and patient care outcomes. Three student pharmacists will be selected for the internship through a nationwide selection process.
Internship Details
During the 10-week program, each intern will be assigned to a health plan, a pharmacy benefit management company, or a specialty pharmacy. In addition, interns present capstone research projects at AMCP Nexus. This immersive experience is a well-rounded introduction to the managed care pharmacy profession.
- Interns will also receive a modest stipend.
- Note: This program is virtual but can be completed in person at the request of the host site.
Internship Requirements
Candidates must be enrolled as full-time Doctor of Pharmacy degree students in an ACPE-accredited school or college of pharmacy during the 2026-2027 school year, with anticipated graduation in 2028 or 2029. They must be eligible for employment in the United States.
