Dr. Yu is currently Head of Oncology Evidence for Access team at Genentech, where she manages a team of health economists who are responsible for health economics and outcomes research strategies and tactics for the oncology and hematology portfolio within the Public Affairs and Access organization. Dr. Yu’s areas of focus include real world data research, economic modeling, and patient-reported outcomes research. Her team focuses on evidence generation to demonstrate the value of the products in the oncology and hematology portfolio for patients, payers and providers. She has been with Genentech for 18 years as of 2023, and has worked on multiple products and product launches in oncology, hematology, immunology, neurology, rare diseases and ophthalmology. In addition, Dr. Yu has led many projects in collaboration with payers or health systems in the areas of care coordination, shared decision making, digital health, and quality measure development to improve patient outcomes and/or lower costs. Prior to joining Genentech, Dr. Yu worked in the Health Economics and Outcomes Research departments at Amgen and AstraZeneca. Dr. Yu graduated from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor in 1999 with a PharmD degree. In 2001, she completed a fellowship sponsored by the National Eye Institute and earned an MS in Pharmaceutical Economics and Policy from the University of Southern California. Dr. Yu has over 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and has authored numerous publications in health economics and outcomes research in various disease areas.
