Prep for P&T Competition and Network at Nexus 2019
AMCP Foundation is pleased to offer programming at Nexus 2019 specifically designed for student pharmacists, including an interactive session in conjunction with the AMCP Student Pharmacist Committee on “Identifying and Evaluating Information for Evidence-Based Drug Formularies.” This session (SP2) will be held Thursday, Oct.31, 10-11:30 am, and is a must-attend for any student planning to participate in the Foundation’s National P&T Competition. All students interested in applying for a managed care residency or pursuing a career in evidence-based medicine are also encouraged to attend.
Does the process by which scientific, clinical, and economic evidence is gathered and synthesized into a drug monograph seem overwhelming to you? Our speaker — Lynn Nishida, RPh, FAMCP, Vice President, Clinical Product and Contracting at WithMe Health — will share best practices for formulating a clinical question, performing efficient and transparent literature searches, and critically appraising and synthesizing the most relevant evidence. Through a series of interactive exercises, you will become more confident about evaluating the information most critical to formulary decision-making and P&T Committees.

And don’t forget! In addition to the student pharmacist sessions, Nexus 2019 offers great networking opportunities for student pharmacists. The Foundation joins AMCP in adding to the student attendee experience, so mark your calendars!
