AMCP Foundation/AbbVie, Inc. Specialized Internship in Health Outcomes
AbbVie, Inc., in partnership with AMCP Foundation, supports AbbVie, Inc. Specialized Internship in Health Outcomes for one student pharmacist. The program aims to stimulate student pharmacists' interest in career options in health outcomes and pharmacoeconomics through exposure to research, measurement, and applications to evidence-based decision-making. In addition, the interns will gain knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, managed health care systems, a public charity with AMCP Foundation, and a professional membership society with AMCP.
Internship Details
One student pharmacist will spend 10 weeks onsite in Chicago, IL with AbbVie's Health Economics and Outcomes Strategy department under the supervision of a pharmacist preceptor, completing a health outcomes-related project, and presenting their research findings during poster presentations at AMCP Nexus.
The intern will receive a modest stipend, and the program will cover approved expenses.
Internship Requirements
Candidates must be enrolled as full-time Doctor of Pharmacy degree students in an ACPE-accredited school or college of pharmacy during the 2026-2027 school year, with anticipated graduation in 2028 or 2029. They must be eligible for employment in the United States.
