Annesha White, PharmD, MS, PhD is Senior Associate Dean for Assessment, Accreditation & Faculty Success, and Associate Professor at the University of North Texas Health Science Center College of Pharmacy. Dr. White has worked on funded projects with the Florida Medicaid program including studies on COX-2 Inhibitors, Hepatitis C and End Stage Renal Disease. She also worked at the Government Accountability Office (the investigative arm of Congress), to examine Pharmacy Benefit Managers impact on Health Plans, Enrollees, and Pharmacies.
Dr. White advocates for student pharmacists and the future of the profession, serving as an AMCP Student Chapter Advisor and advising students in related organizations such as ISPOR. She is also the virtual preceptor for the AMCP Foundation/Pfizer Managed Care Research and Nonprofit Leadership Intern.
She has lectured for many of the pharmacy courses taught at Florida A & M University and the University of Florida including Pharmacy Management, Pharmacy Health Care and Behavior, Pharmacy Communications, Pharmaceutical Outcomes, and Quantitative Methods in Pharmacy. She also taught Pharmacy Management, the Managed Care Pharmacy Elective and Research Design and Literature Evaluation courses at Mercer University. She currently works at the University of North Texas Health Science Center College of Pharmacy, teaching pharmacy students in various courses such as the Economic Evaluation and Policy course which is an integral component of a certificate program in Applied Health Outcomes Research.
Her primary research interests include the design of studies to address issues in the health services research arena. Areas of focus include Medicare, Patient Safety, Managed Care, Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research. Her research has included a focus on a variety of disease states, such as heart disease, chronic pain and end stage renal disease with the goal of providing care that is balanced in quality and cost. Her research involves a team approach to care examining the various aspects of the health care system and how entities can join together to enhance efforts. Dr. White has published several peer-reviewed articles, a textbook entitled Introduction to the Pharmacy Profession and serves as a referee for the Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy.
Dr. White graduated with a PharmD and MS degree (pharmacoeconomic focus) from Florida A&M University and then obtained a PhD in Health Services Research from the College of Public Health & Health Professions at the University of Florida. She has been active in various pharmacy organizations (AMCP, ISPOR, ASHP, APhA) for over 20 years.
