2023 Steven G. Avey Recipient - Judith A. Cahill, MA, CEBS
AMCP's Past President and longtime friend of Judy's, Marissa Schlaifer, shared a heartfelt toast at the Cahill Memorial Fund donor breakfast at AMCP 2023.
"It is a tribute to Judy that each of you in this room was touched by Judy’s life and legacy in a unique way. For some, she was a boss and a mentor and taught us leadership; for Kathy, she was a beloved aunt; for many, she was the spokesperson for the profession of managed care pharmacy; for others, she was a special friend; for the profession, she was the voice that reminded us to focus on quality and quality measurement. For many, she was the force that gently pushed us into leadership roles or new jobs.
Without Judy, the Part D star ratings might not exist. What is equally special is her impact on so many who never knew her directly.
- Students that may use the Navarro textbook for which she served as a section editor.
- Interns that have or will participate in AMCP Foundation internship programs, a program created under her leadership.
- Members of a professional association that continues to evolve under Susan Cantrell’s leadership on a base formed under Judy’s leadership.
For all of us, Judy’s legacy is important in our lives – and with your gifts, Judy’s legacy will influence how the public learns about managed care pharmacy for years to come.
With that, let’s raise our glasses and toast Judy and her legacy. Thank you for all you are doing to extend Judy’s legacy."
